What if we told you... this Wool Fleece Jacket was actually made of wool?

Okay, we'll be honest: it's not 100% wool. That would be impossible. Impractical. Not a good move. The front—the fuzzy bit—is pure 62-grade merino wool, but the backing is polyester – and it should be. Actually, it needs to be. Otherwise, everything falls apart.

We had the shell fabric for our Wool Fleece Jacket custom-made in Wisconsin: it's a specialized, premium merino wool pile. Surprisingly lightweight, this is more than a layer – and it literally breathes. Fleece products made entirely from polyester are soft and warm, yes, but they're sweaty. Wool fleece insulates like the best of 'em, but breathes because it's an evolved animal fiber. 

Some of our favorite details are the tapered wrists, exaggerated zipper, and most of all, the vertical zip chest pocket – featuring straightforward and subtle A.T. branding. The interior seams along the sleeves and armpits are flatlocked: they won't dig into your body. The elastic wrists and waist ensure this fleece will keep its shape regardless of overuse, of which there is no such thing for this product. Last, the colored nylon taslan compliments the body well, which can be found on the chest pocket and beneath the collar, adding another layer of utility to this multi-season fleece.
