Woolen Blouson
Definition: exceeding every expectation.
Designing outerwear is a long process encompassing both the exploration and return home. From trench coats to wool fleece, we wanted to introduce an inherently versatile style to the lineup. We began inspired by a classic silhouette, and to complement our blazers this season, we knew that special materials were necessary to complete the piece.
The Woolen Blouson is a hard-wearing jacket to span seasons, made up of a legendary English wool cloth. Marton Mills of Yorkshire is the champion of traditional woven cloth used in tailoring and military pieces alike. Since 1931, the mill has always led with renowned in-house craftsmanship and sustainable production practices.
In a shorter length with a straight hemline and broad body, the jacket's shape is honest and approachable. The fabric has enough texture to provide a ton of visual interest without being the heaviest wool in the closet. No need to worry about sweating under layers on sunny days. It's similar to a tailored jacket in that way.
All the slick details are considered, too. The collar is structured enough to stand up or lay flat. A two-way brass zipper provides the option for a little more room around the waist while the chest pocket is imbued with style. Working cuffs on the wrist and two back tab adjusters are fastened with genuine Italian horn buttons. Two front and internal pockets are finished clean and lined for easy entry.
In the end, it's going to look great over a tee or sweater, but we particularly enjoyed styling it with a tie and tailored trousers. An elevated wool fabric is always going to offer the ultimate sense of versatility.
