Epaulet x American Trench Sashiko Doyle in Olive

PLEASE NOTE: Doyle Jackets are on the way from LA to our office in Philadelphia and should ship out week of 4/22.

We are excited to present our own custom colorway of Epaulet's legendary Doyle jacket, cut and sewn in Los Angeles, and an incredibly strong Japanese sashiko fabric. It has been garment dyed, or plunged into a reactive dye bath, and then beautifully aged with natural pumice stones, both by machine and by hand. The result is an unbelievably soft and comfortable piece of outerwear with an aged look like none other. You can wear it in the cool mornings and evenings of Spring or Fall or as a layering piece in the Winter months as well. Our green color is the perfect military olive (see color note below) and will look amazing with indigo denim, khaki chinos, and wool fabrics in greys, browns, and blues. We only have 16 units of this beautiful lightweight layering jacket.

COLOR NOTE: the color is truest in the close crop of fabric detail and mannequin shot taken in natural light, much deeper and richer than the flat lay and cuff detail shot

12oz 100% Cotton Japanese Sashiko Pique

Also known as our classic pure cotton Sashiko cloth is woven in Japan for use in martial arts uniforms. Known as Dogi (cloth of the way), this fabric has a thick pique weave with well-defined "rice gain" structure. This technique offers three benefits: it allows natural stretch and flexing with movement, it absorbs moisture and stays away from your skin and it gains exceptional tensile strength, far above a comparable twill weave. Given the large texture of the weave, you can expect a particularly nice patina with wear.

    The Doyle Jacket

The Doyle is Epaulet's loving homage to the classic French work jacket. Two open patch pockets sit at the hip. They're doubled against the body, allowing your hands to use them both from the side and from the top. Hidden brass rivets and heavy stitched bar tacks sit at the corners to reinforce them against heavy use. A single exterior pocket and a long interior pocket sit on either sides of the chest. The sleeves close with a functional single cuff, and can be unbuttoned and pushed up your forearms. The rear is single vented and the soft top point collar cuts a rakish profile whether open or closed. The buttons are natural corozo nut, dyed a gorgeous brandy tone.
